The SeaStar CCX205 BRP 479 XTREME Control Cable Post 79 17FT delivers smooth, precise throttle and shift control for BRP, Evinrude and Johnson outboards and inboards manufactured from 1979 onwards. Designed as a direct replacement for 479-style control cables, it offers reliable performance while making installation straightforward. Whether you’re replacing a worn cable or upgrading your control system, this 17-foot cable helps restore responsive engine operation.
Built for Smooth, Reliable Performance
Unlike standard control cables, the XTREME design reduces friction throughout the cable. As a result, shifting and throttle operation remain smooth even when the cable follows long or tight routing paths. This improved flexibility provides consistent control, making every trip on the water more enjoyable.
Furthermore, the heavy-duty 8.6mm outer jacket protects the cable from wear while maintaining excellent durability in demanding marine environments.
Durable Marine-Grade Construction
SeaStar manufactures this control cable using quality marine-grade materials to withstand harsh conditions. Stainless steel, brass and moulded plastic fittings resist corrosion, while the black UV-resistant polyethylene outer jacket protects against sun exposure and everyday wear. Consequently, the cable continues to perform reliably season after season.
In addition, the cable meets or exceeds original equipment manufacturer specifications, giving you confidence in both fit and performance.
